The service

WebVigia builds and maintains simple websites for businesses — companies and sole traders or self-employed people, for their business — and for consumers habitually resident in Portugal. We do not contract with consumers resident outside Portugal (including Ireland and the United Kingdom). Before contracting, a business customer confirms in writing the business it carries on and that the site is for that business, with its tax or VAT number.

  • Where we sell: to businesses established in Portugal, Ireland or the United Kingdom and, at the customer's own request, in another EU Member State; to consumers, in Portugal only. In the EU outside Portugal, only to businesses with a valid VAT number, validated on VIES. In the UK, only to businesses with a UK VAT number or, for a company that is not VAT-registered, its Companies House number and a statement that it is contracting for the company's business; we may ask for other proof of business activity. We do not accept sole traders in Ireland or the United Kingdom without a VAT number. We do not sell to the United States or to other countries.
  • «WebVigia Essencial» package — price: €200 to build the site (50% on acceptance and 50% on delivery) + €25/month, in euros. Customers in Portugal: VAT exempt under article 53 of the Portuguese VAT Code. For consumers in Portugal: €300 build + €25/month, no minimum term; these are final prices, all taxes included (IVA – regime de isenção); there are no other charges. Business customers in other EU Member States: VAT not charged — reverse charge, to be accounted for by the customer (article 6(6)(a) of the Portuguese VAT Code). Business customers in the UK: outside the scope of Portuguese VAT (article 6(6)(a) of the Portuguese VAT Code); invoices carry no Portuguese VAT.
  • Term: business customers: minimum period of 6 months (minimum total €350); after that, month to month, cancellable in writing with 30 days' notice. Consumers in Portugal: no minimum period and no exit charge; cancellable at any time, in writing, with 30 days' notice.
  • Build time: your site goes live within 10 business days, counted from the business day after we confirm in writing that we have received all your content and the first 50% of the price (or from any later start date stated in the quote). Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding mandatory public holidays in Portugal; Irish and UK bank holidays do not affect the count. The time you take to approve the preview and pay the final 50% does not count, nor does time spent waiting for third parties (for example, domain registration or DNS). If we miss the deadline for reasons attributable to us, we credit you €10 per business day of delay, up to €100. Full terms in the contract.
  • What the monthly fee includes:
    • hosting and a secure connection (HTTPS), with automatic certificate renewal;
    • a domain in the customer's name (the customer is the registrant): .pt in Portugal; .ie, .co.uk, .eu or .com outside Portugal; registration and yearly renewal included up to €31.37/year; premium and additional domains excluded; terms in the domain clause of the contract;
    • backups (version history of the code and a monthly exported copy), with restore included;
    • automatic uptime monitoring every 5 minutes;
    • up to 30 minutes a month of small changes (for example text, opening hours, prices, phone number, swapping up to 5 photos, a seasonal notice); unused time does not carry over;
    • response times on business days, 9:00 to 18:00 Lisbon time: site down or a defect on our side, response and start of the fix within 1 business day; change requests done within 3 business days. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding mandatory public holidays in Portugal (article 234 of the Portuguese Labour Code); Carnival Tuesday, municipal holidays and 24 and 31 December are business days. Public holidays in other countries, including Ireland and the UK, do not affect the count. The day of the event that starts the period does not count;
    • fixing our own mistakes, free of charge and outside the 30 minutes;
    • a monthly automatic Vigia check, with a short report by email (it is not an audit or a penetration test, and it does not guarantee the absence of flaws).
  • Requests: in writing only, to contact@webvigia.com. You get a confirmation with the expected date.
  • Payment: by bank transfer, within 8 days, against an invoice in euros sent by email. We work in euros only.
  • End of contract: the customer receives, free of charge and within 10 business days, a complete copy of the site and the domain transfer code.
  • Extra time: €20 per 30-minute block, always with a quote approved in writing first.
  • Not included (quoted separately): new pages, redesign, structural changes or new languages; online shop, bookings, payments, customer area or integrations; writing copy from scratch, photo shoots, video or logo; ongoing SEO, Google Business Profile management, social media or ads; professional email (mailboxes), unless added as an extra; same-day urgent work and weekend work; third-party content and problems caused by changes made by the customer or third parties. We do not guarantee 100% uptime or any position on Google.
  • The full terms are in the written contract signed with each customer before any payment.

Demos

We may show the businesses we contact a private demo of what their website could look like. Each demo:

  • is not the business's official website and is not associated with it, and says so in a banner at the top of every page;
  • is private and not indexed (only the business receives the link);
  • does not use logos, photos, text or reviews copied from the business or from third parties;
  • is deleted after 14 days, or as soon as the business replies «no» or asks for deletion.

If you found a demo with your business's name and want it deleted, write to contact@webvigia.com. We delete it the same day.

Consumers (resident in Portugal)

  • Before the contract: we email you the pre-contract information (Portuguese Decree-Law 24/2014, article 4), the contract and the cancellation form.
  • 14-day right to cancel: you may cancel within 14 days of concluding the contract, without giving a reason and at no cost; we refund within 14 days. We only start work within that period if you expressly ask us to; if you then cancel, you pay only for the part already done, and you lose the right as regards the build once the site is published (Decree-Law 24/2014, articles 10, 15 and 17).
  • Legal guarantee: the site and services are digital content and services covered by the conformity guarantee of Portuguese Decree-Law 84/2021: two years for the site and the whole term of the contract for the monthly services.
  • Price: final price, all taxes included (IVA – regime de isenção).
  • No lock-in: no minimum period and no exit charge.
