Who can sign up?
Businesses established in Portugal, Ireland or the United Kingdom (companies, sole traders and self-employed professionals, for their business) and, at your own request, in another EU country. In Ireland and other EU countries we need a valid VAT number, which is validated on VIES. In the UK we need your UK VAT number or, if the company is not VAT-registered, its Companies House number and a statement that it is contracting for the company's business; we may ask for other proof of business activity. We cannot accept sole traders in Ireland or the UK without a VAT number. Prices and invoices are in euros (EUR). For businesses in other EU countries we do not charge VAT: reverse charge, you account for it. For UK businesses, invoices carry no Portuguese VAT, because the service is not taxed in Portugal. Private individuals can sign up only if they live in Portugal.
Do you work with individuals?
Only if your habitual residence is in Portugal: €300 set-up + €25/month, with no minimum term and no exit fee. These are final prices, all taxes included. Before you sign, we email you the pre-contract information and the withdrawal form; you have 14 days to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason. We do not contract with individuals living outside Portugal.
We only contact companies, never private individuals or sole traders, and every email lets you opt out. If you are an individual, we only talk if you email us.
Why is the set-up cheaper for businesses?
Businesses have a 6-month minimum term, and the set-up price takes that term into account. Individuals have no minimum term.
Is there a minimum term?
Businesses: yes, 6 months from when the site goes live (€350 in total). If you cancel earlier without just cause, you pay the remaining months up to the end of that term. After that it runs month to month, cancellable in writing with 30 days' notice.
Individuals living in Portugal: no. You can cancel at any time, in writing, with 30 days' notice.
What about VAT?
For businesses in other EU countries, VAT is not charged: reverse charge, you account for it. For UK businesses, invoices carry no Portuguese VAT, because the service is not taxed in Portugal. In Portugal we are VAT exempt under article 53 of the Portuguese VAT Code; for individuals, prices are final, all taxes included.
Do I pay anything before I see the site?
Nothing is charged before you sign the contract. You pay 50% when you accept the quote and see a preview before the site goes live. The remaining 50% is paid on delivery.
How long does it take?
Your site goes live within 10 business days of receiving all your content. With the quote we send you a list of what we need: the final text for each section, the photos and logo you want to use (or a note that you do not have them), the business details to show on the site and the details needed to register the domain. Once we have everything, and the first 50%, we confirm in writing and the 10 days start on the next business day. If we have other sites in progress, the quote tells you, before you sign, the date we can start. Within that time we show you a preview; the site only goes live after you approve it and pay the remaining 50%, and that time does not count. Nor does time spent waiting for third parties outside our control, such as the domain registry or a DNS change at your provider. If you ask for changes to the preview or send new content, it may take longer, and we will tell you the new date in writing. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Portugal, where we work from (Irish and UK bank holidays do not change the count).
If we miss the deadline for reasons on our side, we credit you €10 for each working day of delay, up to €100.
Individuals: we only start after the 14-day withdrawal period, unless you ask us in writing to start earlier. The full terms are in the contract.
Who owns the domain?
You do. The domain is registered in your name and you are the registrant. Registration and yearly renewal are included up to €31.37 a year; premium and additional domains are excluded. If the renewal price goes above that, we tell you at least 30 days in advance and you choose whether to pay the difference or renew it directly. When the contract ends, we give you the transfer code free of charge within 10 working days.
Who owns the website?
Once the set-up price is paid in full, the code and design made for your site become yours. Third-party and open-source components keep their own licences, and our generic tools come with a free, perpetual licence to use as part of the site. Until that payment, the site is for preview only.
If you leave, for any reason, we give you a full copy of the site (code and content) and the domain transfer code, free of charge, within 10 working days.
What if I need more than 30 minutes of changes?
Extra time costs €20 per 30 minutes, always with a quote you approve in writing first.
What is the Vigia check?
Once a month, Vigia automatically checks your site and we email you a short report. It is an automated check: it is not an audit or a penetration test, and it does not guarantee the absence of flaws.
Do you guarantee a Google ranking?
No. We do not guarantee 100% uptime or any Google ranking.
Can I call or use WhatsApp?
No phone or WhatsApp support, so there is always a written record of what was agreed. We reply in writing on working days.
